Jun 12, 2012 - PETTIT SECOND AT STOCKTON

PRUNEDALE, CA – Jim Pettit II and his Quentin Bammer owned #18 team continued their string of top three finishes with a second place run in Saturday’s “Strandwold Properties 125” at Stockton Speedway.  It was the defending SPEARS Southwest Tour Series champion’s third consecutive top three of the year.

“We were a little tight in the center (of the corner) tonight, Derek (Thorn) was a little better than us, his team is onto something right now, but my guys never give up and we’ll get better,” Pettit said after the race.  “My team has giving me a great car at each of the four races this season, other than the flat tire we suffered at the opener, we’ve finished in the top three so we can’t be disappointed in that.”

Pettit sits fourth in the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series championship, just 29 points out of the lead as the series approaches the mid-way point of the season.  With four races in the books, the #18 Moeller Bros./HUR Engines team has finishes of 10th, 2nd, 3rd, and 2nd.

“It’s tough, everyone is running so well, and driving smart races, the competition level is so deep in this series,” Pettit stated in regards to the championship fight.  “There are three guys ahead of us right now, and another six behind us (in the points) who have a shot at this championship.  It’s going to come down the final race in Vegas in November.”

Next race for the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series will be at Madera Speedway on Saturday, June 30th for the ‘MRO 125’ and fireworks.    For 2012, Moeller Bros., HUR Engines, Golden Gate Petroleum, BizzwithBuzz.com and Swift Springs support Pettit and the Quentin Bammer #18 team.
