2018 Evergreen Speedway Track Champion Enters Showdown
2018 Evergreen Speedway Super Late Model Track Champion, Tyler Tanner, has entered the 2019 Winter Showdown at Kern County Racewayon February 1st and 2nd. This will be Tanner’s fourth attempt to score the $30,000 winner’s share, after having a best finish of fourth in 2016. In his most recent effort, earlier this season, Tanner qualified an impressive 9th, but finished 17th in the final rundown, after dropping out on lap 272. Coincidentally, his best finish at Evergreen Speedway’s SUMMER SHOWDOWN is also a fourth, achieving that result in both 2016 and 2017.
The Auburn, WA driver is looking forward to returning to Bakersfield, CA and competing against many of the best Super Late Model drivers from throughout the country.
“What I enjoy most is the opportunity to race with some of the best competition in the country, at one of the nicest facilities around”, Tanner told the Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series. “Events like this push our team to be at our best, and we always come away better, leaving events like this.”
Tanner is used to success, competing against strong competition, having finished second in the Super Late Model Championship Standings at Evergreen Speedway in 2014 and 2016, in addition to this year’s championship. He has 14 starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and two NASCAR K&N Pro Series West starts, which includes one top-five and two top-ten finishes.
Tyler’s success wouldn’t be possible without the help of his sponsors Heritage Distilling Company, Inc, Floor Coverings International (FCI) – Tacoma and J2Racing.
Next up, Tanner will compete against 50 Super Late Model pilots, hoping to take home the richest payout, in Asphalt Super Late Model Racing, in the country. With over $150,000 on the line, for 300 laps of work, the racing is sure to be intense, with an excitement level to match.
