Bischofberger Returns to Chase $30,000 Sunrise Ford All-Star Showdown Win

One driver returning to the seat of a Super Late Model for the first time in 20 months, is a former winner in the Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series. Jeff Bischofberger completed the trick at The New Stockton 99 Speedway in 2015, and will return for the $30,000-to-win “Sunrise Ford All-Star Showdown 200” at Irwindale Speedway on February 6th. Bischofberger finished a strong second to Preston Peltier, in the SRL season opener at Irwindale in 2019, and should be a threat again, as he teams up with Jeremy Doss and Mike Doss with JD Motorsports. It is a partnership that has shown benefits in the past, and gives Bischofberger a degree of comfort in his return.

“I always feel good heading to the track, with a Senneker Performance car prepared by JD Motorsports”, Bischofberger explained.

It also adds to his confidence, when returning to a track at which he has had success. In his last three SRL starts at Irwindale, he has two top-five and three top-10 finishes, including the runner-up result. It is a track at which three-wide racing is common, and it creates the type of racing that Bischofberger is fond of, with competitors he is looking forward to competing against.

“There is nothing I don’t like about Irwindale, unless the car isn’t perfect”, Bischofberger joked. “I’m looking forward to rubbing doors with Jacob Gomes, Jeremy (Doss), the Moore’s and all the guys.”

This will be series start #33 for the Tracy, CA driver. He has only one full-time effort in the series, however. That season was 2018, when he finished sixth in the championship standings. Overall, Bischofberger has the win, to go along with six top-five and 16 top-10 efforts. Most of those starts were with his current team, JD Motorsports. He is thankful for their hard work, in building and maintaining his Super Late Model. But he is also thankful and mindful for learning the importance of enjoying life, through difficult circumstances.

“I would like to thank Mike & Jeremy Doss, along with Duane Sharp for all the hard work and long hours putting together this car”, Bischofberger began. “I look forward to having my brother Allen Bischofberger back on the radio spotting for me, and appreciative for my wife Christa Bischofberger for understanding my desire to be back behind the wheel.”

Bischofberger continued, “COVID 19 has been a learning experience for all. For me, it has brought to light the important things in life, which are enjoying every day with those that you respect and want to pass the time with…… I look forward to doing just that February 5th & 6th at Irwindale with my parents, friends, brother, family, JD Motorsports crew and all the SRL teams and staff. I would also like to thank Earnest Performance Shocks and Peters Racing Engines for getting a power plant built on such short notice.”
