Congratulations to Buddy Shepherd for scoring multiple awards in last weekend’s “JM Environmental Inc. Wild West Shootout Get It Hot 75” from Kern County Raceway Park. Shepherd took the lead on lap 4 of the Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series event, with a three-wide move coming off of Turn 4, on lap three. to earn the FLUIDYNE High Performance “Cool Move of the Race”. He was able to split Brandon Farrington and Jacob Gomes and secure the top spot one lap later.
“Those guys were racing hard, and it looked like the 25 (Farrington) slipped a little bit and got free in (Turn) 3”, Shepherd recalled. “We got three-wide there and we had a good race.”
For the fifth time in six events, Shepherd was also the top finishing Rookie-of-the-Year competitor, in an event that saw strong efforts from the multiple rookies.
