Carlos Vieira is Eighth in 2021 SRL Championship Standings

Bakersfield, CA – The man with a million-dollar smile had his worst full-time series finish, in his last six efforts, but he still managed his ninth top-10 finish in the Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series championship standings. Carlos E. Vieira brought home an eighth-place finish in 2021, which followed a championship runner-up effort in 2020. The luck factor wasn’t with Vieira in Southwest Tour Series competition, but he did manage to score a victory in the MAVTV televised Nut Up Pro Late Model Series at Madera Speedway.

Vieira entered 2021 coming off his best SRL series effort in 2020. He had completed all but two laps during that season, entering the season finale at Kern County Raceway Park. He showed the consistency he exhibited in 2018, when he completed every lap, finishing third overall. His momentum didn’t continue however, completing the season with four DNF’s. He did score a top-five at Kern County Raceway in June, and four additional top-10’s. His average finish in 2021 was 12.2, while his qualifying average was 10.9. The Livingston, CA driver ran his starts total in the series to 112, while adding to his 16 top-five and 55 career top-10 finishes.

In 2022, Vieira will seek his first career victory in the series after scoring three wins in the Pacific Challenge Series, to go along with victories in the Nut Up Pro Late Models at Madera Speedway, and in the NASCAR Whelen All American Series Late Models at Altamont Raceway Park. With backing from 51 FIFTY LTM and Allied Packaging, the Campbell Motorsports driver will be looking to rebound back to the upper echelon in the series. The 2022 effort gets underway at Irwindale Speedway on February 12th, where Vieira will hope to “Live the Madness” and bring home a victory in one of the marque Super Late Model events in the country.
