Bakersfield, CA – Jeremy Doss will make his third start in the #44 Bob Lyon Super Late Model at the 3rd Annual “All-Star Showdown 200” on February 5th at Irwindale Speedway (CA). The 2018 Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series champion made his debut in the Hamke Racecars Super Late Model at the “October Classic” less than four months ago, finishing second. Doss qualified the car into the “Snowball Derby” for the fifth consecutive time, slotting into the #18 spot of the over 50 entries. An alternator failure ended his day early and left him 27th in the final rundown.
Doss will be one to watch as he has a lengthy resume of success. In addition to his SRL championship, he has nine wins in the series. He is a two-time champion in the Spears Modified Series and won the inaugural championship in the SPEARS Pro Late Model Series presented by Sigma Performance Services. He is the owner of two Pacific Challenge Series championships while also earning a championship in the Airport Auto Brokers Legends Series. Doss has event wins in the “Idaho 200” at Findlay Stadium Stateline Speedway (ID), the “Idaho 208” at Meridian Speedway (ID), and the $10,000-to-win Short Track Shootout at Madera Speedway (CA). He boasts multiple wins in the “Montana 200” at Montana Raceway Park (MT), and the “Senators Cup” at the LVMS Bullring and Dirt Track (NV), each paying $10,000 minimum.
The 2019 Kulwicki Driver Development Program champion scored victories in both the Pro Late Model and Modified events in last year’s All-Star Showdown, taking home $20,000 for those. He earned a $15,000 victory in the “Bischofberger Brawl 166” for the SPEARS Pro Late Models, to go along with another $7,600 win, also at The New Stockton 99 Speedway, in the Asparagus Cup 125”. With all his Pro Late Model and Modified success as of late, he has competed in only five SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series Super Late Model events over the last two seasons. But the Upper Lake, CA driver is ready to get back behind the wheel of the Bob Lyon Super Late Model. He is very thankful for the opportunity.
“I would really like to thank the Lyon family and my parents Mike & Denise Doss for this opportunity. I would also like to thank Cody Glick and Hamke Racecars as well as sponsors Alliance Rental Solutions, Shell Roofing Solutions, and Holders Air Conditioning & Heating.”
The “All-Star Showdown 200” will take place on February 5th at Irwindale Speedway. It will kick off the 22nd season for the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour and the second for the SPEARS Pro Late Models presented by Sigma Performance Services. The SPEARS Modifieds will take part in their second event of the season, after opening at Havasu 95 Speedway. The Super Late Models will race for $25,000-to-win, with the Pro Late Models competing for $10,000-to-win and the SPEARS Modified Series will shoot for $5,000. 44 Super Late Models appeared in 2021 with 38 Pro Late Models and 22 Modifieds answering the call.
Celebrating its twenty-second season in 2022, the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series is a regional stock car series competing on paved ovals in the southwestern portion of the U.S. “The SPEARS Southwest Tour Series…Where the Champions Race”.
