SECOND OF TEN: This weekend’s “STRANDWOLD BROTHERS 125 presented by HURST Shifters” is the second of the ten events that make up the 2013 SPEARS Southwest Tour Series championship season.
STOCKTON WINNERS: Former SPEARS Southwest Tour Series – Stockton 99 winners entered in Saturday’s event include: Jacob Gomes, Derek Thorn, Jim Pettit, and Greg Voigt.
TRACK RECORD: The SPEARS Southwest Tour Series one lap track record holder for Stockton 99, Mike Mendenhall, will compete this weekend.

PAST CHAMPS: There are three former SPEARS Southwest Tour Series champions entered in this weekend’s event (Thorn-2012, Pettit-2008 & 2011, Kanke-2009).
DOUBLE UP: The SPEARS Southwest Tour Series will utilize a “Double-File” restart format for Saturday night’s “STRANDWOLD BROTHERS 125 presented by HURST Shifters”.
TOP ROOKIES: Stockton’s Colby Potts leads the 2013 SPEARS Southwest Tour Series Rookie-of-the-Year point standings with his fifth place finish at the season opener. Brandon Loverock is second, followed by Bobby Hodges, Jeremy Doss with Donny St. Ours rounding out the top five in the current rookie standings.
YOUNG GUNS: Potts also leads the “Flowmaster Young Guns Championship”, for all drivers 23 years of age and younger. Potts leads Jacob Gomes, Michael Sandoval, Hodges, Doss, St. Ours, and Austin Barnes.
MORE STATS: Pettit and Thorn are tied for all-time series wins with 12 each. Pettit leads in all-time top fives and top tens with 40 and 44 respectively. Thorn leads all active drivers with sixteen career fast times.
HOMETOWN TRACK: Ross Strmiska, Gomes, Sandoval, and Potts consider Stockton 99 as their home track.
LEGENDS: The second race of the SRL Legends Tour/Legends of the Pacific series will take place this weekend at Stockton 99. Donny St. Ours is the current point leader, after his legends main event win at Madera.
FIRST TIMERS: Stanislav Osterlund of Los Gatos will be making his first career SPEARS Southwest Tour Series start this weekend. Dallas Montes of Bakersfield will be driving a second NTS Motorsports entry this weekend, making his first SPEARS Southwest Tour Series start of 2013.
EVENT 411: This Saturday’s race at Stockton 99 Speedway will feature the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series, the SRL Legends Tour/Legends of the Pacific, NASCAR Modified Twin Features, and Pro-4 Modifieds. Racing begins at 6pm.
