Zampa Seeks First Super Late Model Win at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway

Bakersfield, CA – Dylan Zampa earned two wins in the Spears SRL Southwest Tour Series in 2023, along with the Rookie-of-the-Year title. He was the 2022 Kulwicki Driver Development Program champion while earning the Pro Late Model championship at ALL AMERICAN SPEEDWAY – ROSEVILLE CA that season. A Super Late Model championship at All American Speedway in 2023 just bolstered his resume. Now the Napa, CA native will hunt his first SRL victory at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway (CA), in the “Masellis Drilling – Salute to America 100” worth $7,776 to win on June 29th.
Zampa already has wins at Kern, but they were in the Spears Manufacturing Pro Late Model and ZMAX CARS Tour West Pro Late Model Series’. He has been very consistent in his Super Late Model as well however, finishing fourth, six, and seventh in his three starts. But Zampa is seeking a win at the ½-mile facility, and knows his team is capable, if they can find just a little more short-run speed out of their Toyota Camry.
“We are heading into the 29th with the mindset of going out there and winning”, Zampa stated. “I feel like the #29 Sierra Speed / Zampa Motorsports machine just needs to be a little better on the short runs. But after a great “All Star Showdown”, I feel like we are really close to grabbing that checkered flag.”
Zampa got his championship effort off to a solid start, as he mentioned. He grabbed a fifth in the “All-Star Showdown 125” at Irwindale Speedway (CA), making it five top-five efforts in 13 career series starts. He grabbed the win in the CARS Tour West and followed that up with a second at Irwindale. The five-time Spears Pro Late Model winner and two-time Wild West Super Series winner will seek to pad his stats with the SRL’s Super Late Model series in his Sierra Speed Technology, Apache Rental Group, CRF Chassis Super Late Model.
The Spears Southwest Tour will return to Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway on June 29th for the series 26th championship event at the facility. They will race for $7,776 in the “Masellis Drilling – Salute to America 100”. The event will also pay a minimum of $500 to start, and $1,000 for those on the Spears Frequent Flyer Program. The Spears Pro Late Models and the Spears Modified Series will join the Super Late Models in Round #2 of the season series. A Fireworks Show along with a Monster Truck, Destruction is also on the card, for a night expected to be full of excitement.
Celebrating its twenty fourth season in 2024, the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series is a regional stock car series competing on paved ovals in the southwestern portion of the U.S. “The SPEARS Southwest Tour Series…Where the Champions Race”.
