JEFF BISCHOFBERGER & BP RACING GET READY FOR THE 2014 SEASON
Tracy, CA – Jeff Bischofberger driver #66 from Tracy, and his ROCKWELL WATCH/ RENT TO OWN / RAW EMOTION MEDIA team are ready for the upcoming 2014 SPEARS Southwest Tour Series season. With the season opener at Madera Speedway less than week away, Bischofberger and the team are putting the final touches on their car and hope for strong results heading to the 1/3-mile oval.
“Madera in March 2013 was my first tour race, the level of competition, quality of teams and what it would take to be competitive in this series was very eye opening. We went back and built a completely new car and a new back up/ rental car. Our goal is to be toward the front in all of the 2014 scheduled races.” says Bischofberger. “We ran four races in the 2013 season, first two with the old car, we were unable to finish, and last two we finished a top 10 and top 15. Dallas, Allen and the team put in a tremendous amount of time and effort in the off season I think it will pay off in 2014.”
Bischofberger looks to make his 5th Tour Series start at Madera in March, Madera will mark the 15th race of Bischofberger’s career. Bischofberger and the team hope to attend all 10 races in the 2014 season and compete for the ROOKIE OF THE YEAR title.
“The SRL Series is extremely competitive; the entire field usually qualifies within about ½ second of one another, which doesn’t leave much room for error. The team and I enjoy the challenge of this series and appreciate the quality of drivers. The ability to ask some of the top teams in the series questions has helped to shorten our learning curve quite a bit, I really appreciate those teams that have taken the time to let us learn from them.”
The SPEARS Southwest Tour Series season opener at Madera Speedway will start on Friday for the #66 team with open practice, then continue Saturday with two practice sessions, qualifying and the 125 lap Melo’s Gas and Gear 125.
