PETTIT LOOKING FORWARD
Prunedale, CA – Three-time SPEARS Southwest Tour Series champion Jim Pettit II and his Quentin Bammer team are looking forward to this weekend’s SPEARS Southwest Tour race at Bakersfield’s Kern County Raceway Park.
“It’s always fun coming to Bakersfield, we’ve had a lot of great memories racing in Bakersfield over the years,” Pettit commented. “We started coming to Bakersfield to run the dirt track, then ran Mesa Marin, it’s a great racing town.”
Pettit and his team are coming off an eleventh place finish at the SPEARS Southwest Tour season opener at Madera Speedway with discontent and confidence.
“We’re not happy, we led the most laps and put ourselves in position to win, but the last lap deal took the win from us. Duane (Sharp) and the guys gave me the best car in the field, we had the car to win, but it didn’t work out that way.”
This Saturday night Pettit will be making his third career start at Kern County Raceway Park. In two starts at the Bakersfield half-mile oval, Pettit has two wins, one race win came while competing in Kern County Raceway Park’s Pro Late Model division, the other win came in the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series DC’s RV Center 100.
“Our cars are good on the bigger tracks and we’re looking to continue our good runs at Kern.” Pettit concluded.
For 2014, Moeller Bros., HUR Engines, Hamke Race Cars, BizzwithBuzz.com and Swift Springs will support Pettit and the Quentin Bammer #18 team.
