TEST DAY: There will be a test day at Kern on Saturday, October 20th from 9am to 2pm that is open to SRL teams. Pricing: based on the number of cars that participate: $1,200 for one car, $700 each for two cars, $500 each for three to seven cars, $350 each for eight or more.Reserve your spot in advance at 661-835-1264.
Note: SRL teams may not conduct a private test at Kern the week of the event (Sunday, October 21st– Friday, October 26th).
KERN TIMES:
Saturday, October 27th– Haulers Park 10am, Garage Opens 10:30am, Crew Chief Meeting 11am, Pre -Tech Inspection 11:15am – 4:15pm, Practice 12:30pm, 1:45pm & 3:30pm, Qualifying Tech 5:15pm, Qualifying at approximately 6:30pm – followed by overnight impound.
Sunday, October 28th– Garage Open 9am, Driver/Crew Chief/Spotter Meeting 11:35am, On-track Autograph Session and Driver Introductions 12:45pm, Race start at approximately 1:30pm.

INCREASE IN FREQUENT FLYER AWARD: The “SPEARS Frequent Flyer“ typically pays $1,000 start money to all teams who have qualified for the program by competing in three consecutive series events. For the “October Classic” this award will increase to $1,150. Teams currently eligible include: 1, 2, 05, 16, 18, 20, 21, 24, 27, 31, 44, 48, 51, 66, 71, 75 and88.
PRE-ENTER = ONE TIRE:All teams that pre-enter for the “October Classic” will be credited for one Hoosier tire for the weekend.
ADDED WINNER’S AWARD: AKM Maintenance and FLUIDYNE Performance have added to the winner’s payout for a total of $7,000 to win.
NEED CREW MEMBERS FOR THE WEEKEND?: If you need additional crew members to assist you on Saturday or Sunday at Kern, please let us know and we will work to find you the additional personnel for your team. We will reach out to K&N teams and local race teams who are qualified to assist you.

FUEL: SUNOCO Standard 110 is the Spec Fuel of the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series; it is each teams responsibility to have their own supply. Kern County Raceway does sell SUNOCO 110. You can call to pre-order at 661-835-1264.
HOT PIT LANE: Hot Pit Lane will be configured as it is for the ‘Winter Showdown’.
FREE CAMPING: In celebrating the return of the “October Classic”, Kern County Raceway is offering free camping all weekend.
WINTER SHOWDOWN WARM UP:The “Bulwark FR 175 presented by Coleman Powersports” will follow a similar format and procedures as the ‘Winter Showdown’.
CONTROLLED PIT STOPS: With the race distance 175 laps, teams will be allowed four tires in their pit for the race (2 rights/ 2 lefts), the four tires may be scuffs or stickers. Note: Maximum two tires may be changed per caution period. Complete ‘Controlled Pit Stop’ procedure handout will be provided. Maximum five ‘team uniformed’ crewmen to service the car on Pit Lane.
Reminders:
SPOTTER’S RADIOS: Each spotter must have a scanner, or a separate radio that will scan the SRL Race Control frequency at 460.0125. No longer may you use a radio that scans Race Control secondary, as it interferes with communication to the spotter, which then leads to directions not being heard.
REAR ENDS: Cars utilizing a working locked rear end (i.e. a spool or similar) may deduct 50lbs off their total weight.
