Buddy Shepherd Looking for Checkered
Buddy Shepherd will look to turn a fast racecar, from his previous visit to ALL AMERICAN SPEEDWAY – ROSEVILLE CA, into a winning racecar this weekend in the “Nut Up 125 presented by 51 FIFTY LTM” Shepherd will go for $8,000 thanks to the Motor City Throwdown Challenge and the extra $3,000 to beat Derek Thorn Racing. It was a feat he nearly accomplished in May’s “JM Environmental Inc Wild West Shootout – Are You Ready 147 presented by 51 FIFTY”.
Shepherd led a large portion of the event in May before having to pit from damage received in his battle with five-time series champion, Thorn. Shepherd stormed back through the field to ultimately finish second. He never received the caution he needed to challenge Thorn for the win, when Jacob Gomes got a flat tire while leading with four laps remaining.
But this weekend, the Rookie-of-the-Year leader hopes to put it all together and claim his second SRL victory, and vault ahead of Jacob Gomes, back to the championship runner-up position.
