Cole Brown Wrangles Sixth-Place Championship Run in the SPEARS Pro Late Models

Bakersfield, CA – Sigma Performance Services “Young Gun” Cole Brown participated in nine of 11 SPEARS Pro Late Model Series events in 2021, coming home sixth in the championship standings. Brown scored two top-five and six top-10 finishes by season end. Brown had extremely limited experience in a Pro Late Model as the season began, but showed great improvement as the season wore on.
Brown, from Ukiah, CA had worked his way through the Junior Late Model Series at Madera Speedway. It is a series in which he finished third in the 2020 championship standings, after scoring points in eight of the nine events. He scored two victories in those eight starts, along with seven top-five’s and eight top-10’s. He had experience in Winged Outlaw Go-Karts, Legend cars, Modifieds, Junior Late Models and a few Pro Late Model starts entering 2021.
The season got off to a rough start with 25th, 21st and 12th-place finishes. But Round #4 turned his season around with a seventh-place finish at The New Stockton 99 Speedway. A runner-up finished followed at ALL AMERICAN SPEEDWAY – ROSEVILLE CA before missing an event at Kern County Raceway Park. He returned at Irwindale with a seventh and then ripped off a third at Stockton. He finished off his nine starts with two more top-seven finishes at Roseville and Stockton. Those starts made it six top-10’s in a row for the JD Motorsports affiliated driver, as he recalled his season.
“This past season had its ups and downs, but we were able to push through with the help of so many great supporters between the Doss crew, my Crew Chief Dale Dodds, all my sponsors, and of course my family”, Brown exclaimed! “Overall, the season ended on a high note, as we continue to find more and more speed!
Brown continued, “Our main crew at the track was awesome this year, between the Doss’s, Dale Dodds, Ben Fairall , my dad and many others ! I’m looking forward to seeing what next season brings!! Thanks to all the fans who were there to cheer us on!!!”
Brown will look to get off to a better start in 2022, where the series will kick off its second season at the “Sunrise Ford All-Star Showdown at Irwindale Speedway. 37 Pro Late Models made the trip in 2021, and Brown will look to score the biggest win in what should be another stellar field.
