Bakersfield, CA – Jeremy Doss Motorsports enters Round #8 of the SPEARS Pro Late Model Series presented by Sigma Performance Services as the championship leader, having won six of the previous seven events. The “SIGMA Performance Services 60 presented by General Tire” will be one of the stronger fields of the season this weekend however, and will find several new challengers to Doss’ dominance of the series thus far. It is a challenge the reigning Kulwicki Driver Development Program Champion is eager to take on.
“I’m looking forward to the added competition”, Doss admitted. “We have had a successful season so far and my team is always ready for a challenge!”
In addition to championship top-ten competitors Dylan Zampa, Logan Zampa Racing, Mike Lovell, Tanner Reif, Jake Bollman Racing, Tyler Reif, Cole Brown, and Mike Beeler, Doss will face off with new or part-time competitors such as Dylan Cappello Racing, Trevor Huddleston Racing, Jason Romero, Travis McCullough, and Matt Wendt as well as Stockton competitors Ethan Nascimento, JoJo Stearns, Sam Solari, Mike Regelman and Henk Gaalswyk. The Stockton contingent as always tough as they are accustomed to the idiosyncrasies of the historic ¼-mile oval. It is those quirks that Doss finds exciting while competing at the facility.
“I really enjoy racing at Stockton, Doss explained. “The place has some characteristics that most tracks don’t have, with each corner being different. “I feel that can be challenging for the driver and for hitting the set up just right!”
The 2018 Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series Champion is a formidable force everywhere he races. He has nine career SRL Super Late Model wins, he was the 2020 Spears Modified Series champion, with 11 career victories in only 16 starts. He has two Pacific Challenge Series Championships, winning 19 of 41 career starts. He counts two wins in the Montana 200 at Montana Raceway Park, a victory at the Idaho 200 at Stateline Speedway Event Center, a Napa Auto Parts Idaho 208 win at Meridian Speedway, a Budweiser Crown Series win at Evergreen Speedway and a win in the $10,000-to-win Short Track Shootout at Madera Speedway to name a few. At Madera, he was also the “Race 2B Drug Free Big 3” series champion in 2020.
On July 31st, Doss returned to Stateline Speedway to defend his Idaho 200 win from 2020. He was leading the race late in the event when a caution wiped out his lead with 15 laps to go. A broken rear end ended his shot at victory however, dropping Doss to fourth at the final rundown. The mechanical failure was an unusual disappointment, but it doesn’t worry Doss for this weekend’s race.
“We had a great car in Idaho”, Doss stated. “Unfortunately, parts break but no, that’s not a concern heading into Stockton. We are well prepared and feel we will have a great shot at bringing home some hardware.”
The JD Motorsports team is always well prepared, and Doss is thankful for the opportunity to compete in the SPEARS Pro Late Model Series with the support of his family, team, and sponsors.
“I would like to thank my mom and dad along with the JD Motorsports crew for their continuous hard work and support! I would also really like to thank our sponsors: S&S Sports Enterprise, Earnest Performance, Senneker Performance, Performance Friction Brakes, Swift Springs, Horsepower Project by Michele Martin Photography, Pit Stop USA, RT Painting, Joes Racing Products, Franks Radios, the Kulwicki Driver Development Program, Pacific Export LLC and Speedy Signs!”
The Spears Pro Late Models presented by Sigma Performance Services will be competing for $3,000-to-win Saturday night. 21 cars are currently entered for this weekend’s event.
