Dylan Zampa Debut’s New CRF Super Late Model at Stockton 99 Speedway
Bakersfield, CA The Zampa family has had their fair share of success at The New Stockton 99 Speedway. Joey Zampa scored two Spears SRL Southwest Tour Series wins at historic facility. Eldest son Logan Zampa has had some of his best results there, including a second in his last start with the Spears Pro Late Model Series presented by Sigma Performance Services. Younger brother Dylan Zampa has also experienced success at the ¼-mile oval and will be looking to capitalize on July 15th in the “JM ENVIRONMENTAL, INC. Wild West Shootout – Dog Eat Dog 127”. A win would be worth $10,000 in Round #6 of the Spears SRL Southwest Tour Series season.
Dylan was the 2022 Kulwicki Driver Development Program champion, earning one of his victories at Stockton 99 Speedway. Zampa grabbed his biggest single event purse when he brought home $15,000 in the Spears Pro Late Model Series “Fall Brawl 125” sponsored by Masellis Drilling. In seven starts at Stockton, Zampa has five top-five and six top-10 finishes. It is the closest track on the schedule for the Napa, CA driver, and he looks forward to the racing next week in a new Randy Hedrick, Sierra Speed and Technology Super Late Model.
“Stockton 99 Speedway has always been a fun track to me and my family”, Zampa explained. “My family has had great success at that track and winning last year’s $15K-to-win race in the Pro Late gives me a lot of confidence going into this race. I’m very excited to bring our brand new CRF (Clattenburg Racing) Chassis to Stockton, and it is going to be a fun and good learning experience with the new car. I am really looking forward to seeing what we can do with the new red beast.”
Zampa currently leads the Rookie-of-the-Year standings in the SRL and earned a victory at Irwindale Speedway (CA) in May. He sits third in the overall championship standings, just ahead of Cale Kanke. He has two victories in three Super Late Model starts at ALL AMERICAN SPEEDWAY – ROSEVILLE CA, leading the Wild West Super Series standings. If Zampa can grab SRL win #2 at Stockton, he would join Ryan Foster as the only rookie to take two victories in their rookie season. For the rising star, it is a definite possibility.
Round #6 of the Spears SRL Southwest Tour Series will be the 33rd trip to the ¼-mile oval for the series. The “JM Environmental Inc. Wild West Shootout – Dog Eat Dog 127” will pay $10,000 to the winner, and $1,000 to start, for those on the Spears Frequent Flyer Program. It will be the only trip to Stockton for the series in 2023. They will be joined by the Spears Pro Late Models presented by Sigma Performance Services and the Spears Modified Series for the very first time. The NCMA Sprint Cars are also on the schedule. Admission Gates open at 5:00 PM with Racing at 6:00 PM.
Celebrating its twenty third season in 2023, the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series is a regional stock car series competing on paved ovals in the southwestern portion of the U.S. “The SPEARS Southwest Tour Series…Where the Champions Race”.
