Indiana’s Cole Williams Back at Kern
Borden, IN Pro Late Model star Cole Williams will be headed to Kern County Raceway for the “FAST – Fuel Air Spark Technology 110 presented by COMP Cams” on December 19th. Williams will be making his third start in the Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series in 2020, for Collins Motorsports, and second at Kern County Raceway. Williams is a two-time Pro Late Model Champion at both Lebanon I-44 Speedway and Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. He was also the $10,000 winner of the Pro Late Model portion of the All-Star Showdown at Irwindale Speedway last February.
Williams visited Kern County Raceway back in May of this season. He finished sixth in his series debut after qualifying fourth. He also made an appearance at the 2018 Winter Showdown, qualifying 17th of 48 competitors, but only completed 85 of 300 laps, to finish 30th. Despite the mixed results, Williams is a fan of the facility.
“Kern is an awesome racetrack, that I have ran a couple times now”, Williams stated. “We were really fast last time, and after testing this weekend, I think we should have an even better car coming into the last race of the 2020 season.”
Williams also attended the “Retro Custom Metals 137” at the LVMS Bullring and Dirt Track on November 21st. He had a very solid qualifying effort, timing in 11th in the 42-car field. Unfortunately, an early race incident ended his night in the 24th position.
Williams is thankful for the support he has received from both his team, and the sponsors who have stepped up to make this event possible.
“The people I would like to thank with this deal are Glenn Tilton with NAPA Auto Parts – Wyoming, and Bordeau Metals, LLC for coming on board for this weekend. Also, I have to thank Gary Collins and Steve Mcgowan with MMI Services, Inc.. as well as the entire crew for putting together a great car.”
The “FAST 110 presented by Comp Cams” on December 19th will be the final event of the 2020 season for the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series. Derek Thorn will earn his fifth SRL Championship at the single day event for the Super Late Models. The “Tour” cars will be joined by the Spears Modified Series and the Pro Late Models for a full day of action. For those unable to attend, SpearsRacing.TV will broadcast the event live and it will be show on a delayed
