Bakersfield, CA – Cale Kanke didn’t have the start to the 2024 Spears SRL Southwest Tour Series season he was hoping for, but on Saturday, June 29th, the Frazier Park, CA racer will head to the perfect facility to score his first series victory. Kanke, and the teams of the SRL, will converge on Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway (CA) for the “Masellis Drilling – Salute to America 100”, Round #2 of the 2024 season series. Kanke has finished runner-up at the ½-mile “D” shaped facility in two of his last three starts, including this event last season.
This will be Kanke’s 48th career start in the series and his 13th at one of the nicest short tracks in the nation. He has finished in the top-10 in seven of the last eight features at Kern in his Allie Bakes, RPM Motorsports, Dodge Charger Super Late Model. After soldering on to a ninth-place finish in the season opening “All-Star Showdown 125” at Irwindale Speedway, the team is ready to rebound and put the son of the all-time winningest driver in NASCAR Southwest Tour history in Victory Lane. With Kanke’s success at Kern, he is ready to break through and join his father, M.K. Kanke, as a winner in the Spears SRL Southwest Tour Series.
The Spears Southwest Tour will return to Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway on June 29th for the 26th championship event at the facility. They will race for $7,776 in the “Masellis Drilling – Salute to America 100”. The event will also pay a minimum of $500 to start, and $1,000 for those on the Spears Frequent Flyer Program. The Spears Pro Late Models and the Spears Modified Series will join the Super Late Models in Round #2 of the season series. A Fireworks Show along with a Monster Truck, Destruction is also on the card, for a night expected to be full of excitement.
Celebrating its twenty fourth season in 2024, the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series is a regional stock car series competing on paved ovals in the southwestern portion of the U.S. “The SPEARS Southwest Tour Series…Where the Champions Race”.
