Kolby Berry of Ukiah, CA has entered his first Winter Showdown at Kern County Raceway on February 1-3, 2018. Madera Speedway promoter, Kenny Shepherd, is quick to express his encouragement for the Jr. Late Model graduate.

“We are very excited about the competitive culture, mixed with big motorsports exposure, we have created at the Madera Speedway, and we are proud of our graduates from our program, like Kolby Berry”, Shepherd stated. “We are excited to see what the future holds for Kolby”

At the end of the 2017 season, Berry stepped up to the Madera Speedway Pro Late Model Division, qualifying ninth out of 50, in the $10,000 to win Short Track Shootout. Berry completed the event 21st in the 27 car field, as he got accustomed to his new Super Late Model, and the new to him three-eighths mile track. It was an experience Berry hopes will help him, in the upcoming Winter Showdown.

I’m very excited to have such a great opportunity, to be able to race in the 2018 Winter Showdown, with the SRL Series”, Berry began. “I know there will be a lot of big names there . I’m ready to bring my experience, from what I’ve learned in the SRL Southwest Tour Series. It’s going to take some time to adapt to the half-mile at Kern County (Raceway). Therefore, we are focusing on making the show, and performing well. Its going to be an awesome experience, and I can’t thank my team and my sponsors enough, for giving me this opportunity.”
