Bakersfield, CA – The Lone Star State will have its’ second representative at the “All-Star Showdown 200” at Irwindale Speedway on February 5th. Leander, TX driver Logan Bearden will make his third start in the $25,000-to-win event and fifth in Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series championship competition. Bearden finished an impressive sixth in the 2020 edition of the “Showdown” after qualifying ninth. He returned in the 2021 version, also timing in ninth in a new VanDoorn Racing Development Super Late Model. The former World Karting Association (WKA) National title holder experienced motor issues however, completing only 24 laps to finish 36th.
Overall, this will be Bearden’s eighth trip to compete in SRL events. He has three trips to Kern County Raceway Park for the “Winter Showdown”. He also has two championship event starts at the LVMS Bullring and Dirt Track . In 2020, Bearden scored two top-10 finishes in the Southern Super Series in three 5 Flags Speedway starts. The 2018 Pro Modified Track Champion at Houston Motorsports Park is thankful for his opportunity to travel out to the West Coast and compete in some of the biggest events in the country.

The “All-Star Showdown 200” will take place on February 5th at Irwindale Speedway. It will kick off the 22nd season for the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour and the second for the SPEARS Pro Late Models presented by Sigma Performance Services. The Spears Modified Series will take part in their second event of the season, after opening at Havasu 95 Speedway. The Super Late Models will race for $25,000-to-win, with the Pro Late Models competing for $10,000-to-win and the SPEARS Modified Series will shoot for $5,000. Qualifying for all three divisions will commence at 2:00pm. 44 Super Late Models appeared in 2021 with 38 Pro Late Models and 22 Modifieds answering the call.
Celebrating its twenty-second season in 2022, the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series is a regional stock car series competing on paved ovals in the southwestern portion of the U.S. “The SPEARS Southwest Tour Series…Where the Champions Race”.
