Motor City Throwdown Challenge Continues
Since the announcement last month of the Motor City Throwdown Challenge, 5X SPEARS Southwest Tour Series Champion, Derek Thorn has held off his challengers. With his win this past weekend at Stockton Speedway, where he took the “To the Back Challenge” and passed the entire field to win the 227 lap event to pocket $26,000, he’s moved one race closer in conquering the Motor City Throwdown Challenge. If Thorn can win the final two races of the 2021 season, he will take home the $3,500 bonus courtesy of long time series sponsor, Motor City Buick GMC. However, if another driver wins one of the next two races, he will win the Motor City Throwdown Challenge, along with the bonus that comes with it.
- $3,000 for any driver that wins other than Derek Thorn for the September 18th race at All American Speedway
- $3,500 for any driver that wins other than Derek Thorn for the October 23rd race at Kern County Raceway
- If Derek Thorn can run the table and win out the remaining 2 races, he’ll pocket the $3,500 bonus
Next race for the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series is September 18th at All American Speedway in Roseville, CA with the “Nut Up 125 presented by 51 FIFTY”.
Thank you, Motor City Buick GMC and John Pitre and their support of the Motor City Throwdown Challenge, and the added incentive for the 2021 season.
