KERNERSVILLE, NC (March 11th, 2014) NTS Motorsports announced the addition of 17 year-old Garret Archer to their driver lineup for 2014. Archer will compete for the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Rookie-of-the-Year title in 2014. This weekend Archer will make his debut in the NTS Motorsports #21 alongside his NTS Motorsports teammate Greg Voigt.
“We’ve heard a lot of good things about Garret over the past couple of seasons, and we’re looking forward to having him join our team this year,” stated NTS Motorsports owner, Bob Newberry. “Our entire operation has really showed some strength lately, and we look forward to a strong year with both Greg and Garret driving for us in the SRL.”
Archer, from Black Diamond, Washington brings twelve years of racing experience to the team, competing in the Pacific Northwest region in karts, micro sprints, Legends, and Super Late Models. Archer won the 2013 Super Late Model Rookie-of-the-Year title at Evergreen Speedway.
“This is a great opportunity for me to compete with a great race team. They’re at the top of their game, focused and driven to win,” stated Garret Archer. “I will do my best as a driver to bring the NTS Team the Rookie-of-Year title and victories in the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series for 2014.”
From their Bakersfield, California shop, NTS Motorsports will field the #29 and #21 SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series teams for Voigt and Archer, with the prospect of running a third car at selected events. In addition to their west coast operations, Newberry and his NTS Motorsports team field two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series teams, as well as two full-time K&N East teams for drivers Brennan Newberry and Gray Gaulding from their 70,000 square foot Kernersville facility.
Archer, Voigt and the NTS Motorsports team will start their 2014 SPEARS Southwest Tour season this Saturday, March 15th at the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series season opener at Madera Speedway.
