PETTIT and BAMMER Team Ready for 2013
Prunedale, CA – Two-time SPEARS Southwest Tour Series champion Jim Pettit II and his Quentin Bammer owned team are preparing for a successful 2013 season. 2012 was the first year that Pettit and Bammer had teamed up, which resulted in a second in the 2012 SPEARS Southwest Tour Series championship.
“Last year was a great season for our first year together with Quentin (Bammer),” stated Pettit. “It took some time for us to figure the new Hamke chassis, and we’re still learning, but we’ll be starting this year way ahead of last year.”
Pettit and his crew chief Duane Sharp have been together for 12 seasons, winning championships together in the NASCAR Southwest Series in 2004 and 2005, and then winning two championships in the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series in 2008 and 2011.
“Duane and most of our team have been together for a lot of years, and that’s the key to us being in the championship hunt each year. With Quentin coming on board, that was a big boost for us, as he provides the equipment we need to be competitive, and this series is getting more competitive every year.” Pettit added. “We’ve had pretty good success at Madera over the years. We had a win and second last year, so we always feel pretty good about our chances when the series goes to Madera.”
Next race for Pettit and the #18 team will be at the 2013 SPEARS Southwest Tour Series ‘Season Opener’ this Saturday night at Madera Speedway. For 2013, Moeller Bros., HUR Engines, Hamke Race Cars, Golden Gate Petroleum, BizzwithBuzz.com and Swift Springs will support Pettit and the Quentin Bammer #18 team.
