Bakersfield, CA – One of 10 competitors who made their first starts in the SRL Southwest Tour Series in 2024 was Lebanon, Tennessee’s Dawson Sutton. Sutton made the trip to Colorado National Speedway in August to compete in the Salted Metals Architectural Metals 150″ in his Willie Allen Racing, Rackley WAR Racing, Super Late Model. The then 18-year-old was able to qualify third and finish second in the $10,000-to-win event.
Sutton was busy making his mark in racing in 2024. He was a winner in the ASA Stars National Tour, finishing fourth in their championship standings. He finished third in the “All American 400” at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. He brought home the Pro Late Model championship at the renowned 0.596 mile facility. He was a top 10 finisher in his first “Snowball Derby”, backing up his 2023 top five in the “Snowflake 100”, both at 5 Flags. Speedway. In addition, he grabbed four top five finishes in seven ASA CRA Super Series events. He earned five ASA Southern Super Series top fives.
Having earned a fifth-place run, in a limited Craftsman Truck Series schedule, Sutton will be a driver to keep an eye on in 2025. The SRL wishes Dawson the best of luck.
