UPDATES and INFORMATION: Irwindale Speedway
FEES:
Friday: $225 per car (no pit pass fee) Everyone must sign as you enter the Pit Gate.
Saturday: $40 Pit Pass
(Saturday pit passes available on Friday, starting at 4pm at the SRL trailer.)
TESTING at IRWINDALE:
The set up for the June 18th event at Irwindale Speedway will begin a day earlier than expected, so the track will now be available for testing on Thursday, June 16th. Contract the track directly.
NOTE: If a SPEARS Southwest Tour Series team does test on Thursday, their rig and equipment must be out of the pit area after the test. All SPEARS Southwest Tour Series teams enter together starting Friday at 2:30pm.
There will be NO SPEARS Southwest Tour Series testing at Irwindale on Tuesday or Wednesday, June 14th and 15th.
TIMES:
Friday – Pit Gates 2:30pm, Tech Opens at 3:30pm, Two practice sessions, 5:30-6:30pm and 7:00-8:30pm.
Saturday – Pit Gates 10am, Driver’s Meeting 11:45am, Practice 12:30-1:30pm,
Qualifying Tech Opens at 2:45pm, Qualifying 4:30pm, Autograph Session at 5:30pm, SPEARS Southwest Tour Series 100 lapper at around 7:15pm.
PRE-TECH FRIDAY: All cars will be required to roll through tech inspection on Friday. Tech will be open from 3:30pm – 6:00pm and 6:30pm – 7:30pm.
PRE-QUALIFYING TECH SATURDAY: At 2:45pm sharp, all cars are required to be on the ground and ready to roll to tech. Please wait until you are directed to proceed to Pre-Qualifying Tech Line. You will have two opportunities to pass tech, before you are under penalty of slowest of two laps in qualifying.
AFTER QUALIFYING: All cars will be impounded after qualifying. After you qualify, stop in Turn 4 of the 1/3 mile, you may check pressures, stagger (no jacks) and adjust tape. The cars will then move to the autograph session.
AUTOGRAPH SESSION: Driver introductions will take place on stage during the Autograph Session. Pit Carts will be set up in the infield “Hot Pit Lane” during the Autograph Session.
AFTER THE AUTOGRAPH SESSION: After the autograph session the cars will be staged in the starting line up. There will be a stunt and a short Monster Truck session before our race starts. We should start our race at approximately 7:15pm.
THIRD RACE of 2016: Fuel Cell Bladder – If this is your third race of 2016, your fuel cell bladder must be up to date and will be checked at the Irwindale event, if it hasn’t already be checked and sealed. The manufactures date on your fuel cell bladder must be within 7 years.
IMPORTANT – Please have two bolts drilled to accommodate a wire seal on your fuel cell “Fill Plate”, so an SRL Official can install an “SRL Wire Seal”.
FUEL: It is each team’s responsibility to have their own supply of SUNOCO 110 Standard. The track will not have fuel for sell.
SCANNING REQUIRED: It is mandatory that each spotter has a radio (or scanner) that will scan the SRL Race Control frequency at 460.0125
CANNOT LEAVE THE TRACK UNDER GREEN: You are not allowed to leave the track under green at any time during practice, qualifying or the race at Irwindale Speedway. Pull onto Turn 4 of the 1/3-mile in a safe location, wait until the track is under yellow, and then exit as directed
SOUND LIMITS: The DB rule of the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series is maximum 95dba at 100 feet at all tracks, unless the track requirements are under 95dba.
ENGINE TECH: PLEASE NOTIFY the series if your car requires engine tech.
TRANSPONDERS: Required on the all cars on track on both Friday and Saturday.
DECALS – Mandatory:
- Driver’s name to be in minimum two-inch letters above driver’s side door.
- The driver’s last name is to be displayed on both sides along or just above the rocker panel below the car number in 5” readable letters.
- All the SRL contingency sponsors’ decals must be placed on all cars to be eligible for any and all event prize money, points and/or awards. The location of these decals will be designated by the SRL. The contingency pack will be supplied by the SRL.
